FYI- i am a harry potter fanatic. i have been reading the books since they first landed in the US when i was 7 years old. i dress up for book and movie releases. i have hated all the movies because they are missing so much information and they just aren't as good as the books, but i still go to the premieres. the half blood prince wednesday release will be on my birthday this year, and i squealed when i read this information in entertainment weekly this past issue.

so far trailer 4A is my favorite trailer for the HBP. it is my least favorite book, so i have a feeling i will actually like the movie. with the voice-over speaking of troubled times, i am starting to think that WB intentionally pushed back the movie release to coincide with our failing economy. i kid, i kid.
the best part about all the trailers is that they promise to not overlook the complexities of the novel. disruptions in the muggle world, check. unbreakable vow, check. katie bell being cursed, check. romolda-vane-love-potion tainted chocolate cauldrons, check.
unfortunately, no matter how well they cover the novel, i will never get over the casting of jim broadbent as professor slughorn. he is distinctly compared to an armchair when harry first meets him, as he had transfigured himself into one. armchair= short, squishy. also, slughorn is described to have a walrus mustache, and i only see a clean-shaven actor.
one of my friend's has told me that i shouldn't constantly be comparing the movie to the book, and i should just appreciate the film. the problem is, how an actor looks gives so much insight into the character with one glance; things that take paragraphs in description in the novel are summed up in one shot.
in short- i love HP, i am super excited for the release on my b-day, i like it when movie-adaptations do not take liberties, and I WANT SLUGHORN TO LOOK LIKE A WALRUS-ARMCHAIR >:3
